Cut Copy

We saw Cut Copy Monday. They were great.

Here is there first North American TV performance. On Carson Daly.

I love the arm in the air thing he does - it's like, "I'm inviting you to dance."

Cory, oops, I mean Dan, looks so professional in his button down. And who is that crazy girl in the back standing on a bench? Does she have a cast on her leg? Why yes, she does, and she is STILL dancing!

(for those of you not in Austin, that was me at their show at Emo's). And the bass player that was at SXSW was not there, I think. I'm on my lunch break. forgive the weirdness of this post.

I've got a new theory.

Somehow, this Dan guy and I were, in the past, one person. A cataclysmic event must have occurred -- on a personal level -- that wrenched us apart. I'm not sure what that was; I might be blocking it out. Anyway, now we're two separate people who share many of the same qualities: writing, music, facial structure, etc. It's just that those qualities occur in greater and lesser intensities.

Also, he's an upside-down Australian, and I'm a stand-up American. But that makes a certain kind of sense.

And he's richer and more worldly than I am, which doesn't make as much sense. Rock star versus Idaho grad student -- unequal.

I'd love to sit down with him and compare notes, just go down the list and see where and how our lives match up. Also, I want to play the mirror game with him.

ooo! the mirror game. that sounds really fun. actually, I think I could not wear glasses/contacts and stand ten feet away from someone with shoulder-length brown hair and about my size and it would work. that would be really fun.

oh, and I like your theory. I think we need to test it by contacting him. the two of you can take a personality test and fill out a survey on all your likes/dislikes and then we could do a statistical analysis and bootstrap some values and run it through the Ranger supercomputer here at UT and then we would know.
